Matthew was born on 24th March 1989 in Chester le Street, County Durham. He has a brother called Mark and parents Martin and Liz.

Matt joined MiXiT after being unemployed for many years. His last job was Richard Nixon's bodyguard during Watergate. Matt said; "I never saw any water or gates. It was a real rip off!"

With his blonde hair and blue eyes, he was was quite a boisterous young man at school (or borstal as it was known). He loves tattoos and currently has fifteen with plans for many more.

Matt has an artistic side. In his spare time he knits rasta hats and enjoys wallpapering his grandma's bathroom, even though she doesn't want him to.

He has been singing from the age of 5. A talented music producer in his own right, he is heavily involved in the production process of MiXiT's music and live show. He is also an accomplished drummer and has been in a couple of North East rock bands.

His ambition is to form a MiXiT tribute act, also called MiXiT, to tour working mens clubs in Northern England.

Matt sings lead vocals on several songs including When You're Looking Like That and When You Believe.
